Stormwater systems need to account for site levels, runoff, available outlets and the requirements of the approved design. Bromley Group installs stormwater infrastructure to the relevant drawings and specifications and can coordinate with engineers, surveyors and Council inspections where required.
Our work includes pipework, catchpits, channel drains, subsoil drainage, soakage systems, culverts, detention infrastructure and associated reinstatement.
Where a legal point of discharge or network connection is required, the approved connection details and inspection requirements are confirmed before the connection is completed.

Residential drainage problems commonly present as ponding, saturated ground, runoff flowing toward buildings, or water collecting around driveways and retaining walls.
The appropriate solution depends on where the water is coming from, the site levels, soil conditions, available discharge points and any engineering or consent requirements. Depending on the site, the work may include surface channels, subsoil drainage, French drains, soakage, catchpits or pumped drainage. Where the cause or required solution is not clear from the existing information, further investigation or engineering input may be required before construction begins.

What is a French Drain and When is One Suitable?
A French drain is a gravel-filled trench containing a perforated drainage pipe that intercepts and redirects groundwater or shallow subsurface water. It can be suitable for some wet-ground and retaining-wall applications, but it is not the correct solution for every drainage problem. Site levels, soil conditions and the available outlet need to be considered first. See our French drain guide for more detail.
Drainage Investigation & Remediation
The first step is to establish the cause and location of the problem. Depending on the drainage system, this may include visual inspection, level checks, CCTV pipe inspection or exposing sections of pipe. Once the issue is confirmed, we recommend the appropriate repair method. The remediation may involve replacing damaged pipework, correcting falls, installing additional drainage, improving surface collection or coordinating specialist repair methods where appropriate.
Subdivision & Development Drainage
For subdivisions and development projects, Bromley Group installs stormwater and wastewater infrastructure to the approved civil design, including pipe networks, manholes, catchpits, connections and associated earthworks.
We coordinate our work with survey control, engineering requirements, Council and Watercare inspections, and other civil activities on site. If site conditions, levels or existing services differ from the design information, we raise the issue with the project team before proceeding with work affected by the discrepancy.
Where required, we provide construction records and as-built information from our scope to support engineering completion and the s224c process.
